The new face of the war. Combat, Meuse 1918. French, Germans and Americans at combat.

4 July – 21 December 2018

The aim of this exhibition is to introduce the general public to the combat methods that were adopted by the belligerents at the end of the conflict.

Tactical combat changed: all close combat, combat support and combat service support forces worked together to achieve maximum efficacy. Along with the combat experience that had been gained by the French and the Germans during four years of war, there was also a change in weapons and technical resources. The young American army discovered the reality of war and gradually adapted in 1918. Each army tried in its own way to adapt to this change in the battle by training its men, giving them special equipment and undertaking rigorous preparation.
